Census Farming Survey 2018 : Latest Agricultural Data Provider

One of the major economic contributors in Indonesia is the agricultural sector with a distribution of 13.14 percent in 2017. The agricultural sector also absorbs a lot of labor and can move other sectors so that the policies applied to the agricultural sector are very important, whether from planning, up to evaluation. Accurate data is also needed to get the good policy. BPS as the data provider conducts the Agricultural Census once every ten years in the year ending in "3". The latest census is in 2013. By 2018, given that changes to the agricultural sector, both in terms of technology, season and prices are very fast, BPS again conducted the Intercensal Agricultural Survey (SUTAS) for the first time. SUTAS is expected to estimate the population of agricultural households by sub-sector per district / city, commodity population, and commodity productivity and livestock population parameters.

SUTAS 2018 enumeration will be implemented in 34 provinces in Indonesia with the coverage of agricultural business households. The data will be held for two months, namely in May and June 2018. The enumerator officers at SUTAS 2018 have been trained so that enumerators can understand the methodology, concepts and definitions on the questionnaires and SOPs in the data collection. In addition to the training, participants participate in role playing and direct interviews to respondents so that they can better understand how to interview the respondents properly and correctly.
