Serdang Bedagai - The National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) organized by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is the main support for the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in responding to the need for strategic data for sustainable development or Sustainable Development Goals (TBP/SDGs). Susenas data and indicators have been widely used in planning, monitoring and evaluating government development programs, both central and regional. These indicators include the poverty rate, human development index (HDI) and gini ratio.
In 2024, the March 2024 Susenas activities will be integrated with the 2024 First Quarterly Household Economic Survey (Seruti). Seruti is carried out every quarter to obtain household economic statistics in the form of income values and patterns, consumption and non-consumption expenditures, investments and household financial transactions ladder.
Data collection activities for Susenas March and Seruti samples for the first quarter of 2024 were carried out simultaneously in all regions of Indonesia between 19 February and 9 March 2024. In Serdang Bedagai Regency, the number of sample households recorded was 790 households spread across 75 census blocks in all sub-districts. The data collection was carried out by statistical partners who were selected as Susenas field data collection officers (PPL) and had attended training. Each PPL works on 1-2 census blocks or carries out data collection on 10-20 sample households. PPL conducted direct interviews with respondents who were members of the household and found out the socio-economic conditions of their household. Of the 790 Susenas sample households in March 2024, there are 180 households which are also Seruti sample households for the first quarter of 2024.
The quality of Susenas and Seruti data is a serious concern for BPS Serdang Bedagai Regency. One way to do this is to carry out field supervision. Supervision is carried out from updating household contents in census blocks to collecting data on sample households. Supervisors (PML) accompany PPL in collecting data and evaluating their performance, so that errors that may occur can be avoided as early as possible and help resolve problems and obstacles encountered by PPL in the field.
For the people of Serdang Bedagai Regency whose households will be selected as samples for the Susenas March and Seruti activities for the first quarter of 2024, don't forget to accept the arrival of the officers and provide the correct answers. Providing the correct answer is a real contribution to building Serdang Bedagai Regency into a Religiously Prosperous, Independent Regency.
