Prospects for Micro and Small Industries in Serdang Bedagai Regency Promising

Serdang Bedagai Regency is not only known as an area that has many tourist attractions but also as an area that has many SMEs. The potential SMEs in Sergai number around 1,600, but not all of these small-scale industry businesses have the ability to promote their products so that it is difficult to develop their businesses and products that are more competitive.

 

The manufacturing industry sector was the biggest contributor to GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in 2017. The manufacturing industry's contribution was 20.16 percent. In addition, based on a report from the Director General of Taxes, the realization of tax revenues until the third quarter of 2017, the manufacturing industry accounts for around 31 percent of state revenues.

 

Seeing the importance of the manufacturing industry sector from the data, the policy regarding the manufacturing industry is certainly one of the policies implemented by the government at this time. This is also in line with government policies that direct development to focus on inclusive development. This means that the distribution of industrial development and industrial areas is done by building according to the potential of natural resources of each region.

 

Policies taken in industrial development and industrial estates must of course be based on accurate data. For this reason, the Central Statistics Agency of Serdang Bedagai District conducted a survey called the 2018 Annual Micro and Small Industry Survey. This survey aims to determine the profile of micro and small industries in potential regions in Indonesia that can be used as material for planning macroeconomic activities.
