Abstract
· The export value through loading ports in the North Sumatra region in November 2024 decreased compared to October 2024, namely from US$1,037.39 million to US$957.86 million or decreased by 7.67 percent. When compared to November 2023, North Sumatra's exports increased by 8.37 percent.
· The group of goods that experienced the largest decrease in November 2024 compared to October 2024 was the animal/vegetable fats & oils group, which decreased by US$85.95 million (-18.95%) followed by the food industry dregs/waste group, which decreased by US$29.29 million (-58.96%). The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value was the aluminum group, which increased by US$36.36 million (366.50%) and followed by the organic chemicals group with an increase in value of US$12.56 million (25.58%).
· Exports to China in November 2024 were the largest at US$157.89 million, followed by the United States at US$119.76 million and Malaysia at US$57.91 million with the contribution of the three reaching 35.01 percent.
· According to the main export destination countries in November 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$329.12 million (34.36%).
· The value of imports through North Sumatra in November 2024 on a CIF (cost, insurance & freight) basis was US$436.89 million or down 16.59 percent compared to October 2024 which was valued at US$523.78 million. When compared to the same month in the previous year, the import value decreased by 21.63 percent.
