Abstract
· Human development in North Sumatra continues to progress. In
2018, the North Sumatra Human Development Index (HDI) reached 71.18. This
figure increased by 0.61 points or grew by 0.86 percent compared to 2017.
· Babies born in North Sumatra in 2018 have hopes to live up to
68.61 years, 0.24 years longer than the previous year.
· Children who are 7 years old in 2018 hope to enjoy education
for 13.14 years, 0.04 years longer than 2017.
· Residents aged 25 years and above have studied for 9.34 years
on average, 0.09 years longer than the previous year.
· In 2018, the people of North Sumatra make ends meet with an
average per capita expenditure of 10.39 million rupiah per year, an increase of
355 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
